In celebration of Women’s Month, Sony hosted The Alpha For Her: A Sony Content Creator’s Workshop on March 22, 2025, held at IDIM (I Did It Myself) Bakery, Megamall. It was a fun and meaningful event for us content creators, as we learned tips for vlogging and posting from the speakers.

The event began with a quick snack from Potato Corner, and we had the opportunity to play the claw machine for a chance to win Sony WF-C510 Wireless Earphones. Luckily, my teammate Mark won the prize. Then, the host formally introduced the event, explained the contest, and finally introduced the two guest speakers, Jaz Reyes and Miguel Sotto. Jaz shared her perspective on KOL content creation, and Miguel focused on the professional or commercial aspects. They also shared how they use Sony cameras in their content and gave tips on how to shoot specific videos or content.

After that, IDIM Bakery attendees showed us the venue’s equipment and ingredient locations, and then we started making cake. The allotted time was sufficient, but we didn’t have time to brew coffee or make milk tea because we focused on the cake. We chose the red velvet recipe and appreciated how easy the instructions were to follow and how user-friendly the equipment was.

Designing the cake was tricky because it was heart-shaped, and flattening the icing was hard, especially for Mark. But Judy, who’s baked before, made it look easy. We thought we did a good job with the cake’s design. Unfortunately, because we focused on making the cake, we didn’t record or vlog our process, so we’re not optimistic about winning the contest.

We walked away with more than just knowledge; we shared an experience. The cake-making session was a fun activity, the experts were super helpful, and it felt like a real celebration of our collective creativity and talent. We even brought our own homemade cakes.
