Following months of high-stakes matchups across various local legs, the vivo 3×3 Basketball Challenge Year 4 officially crowned its newest grand champions at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall. Queenpin Basketball dominated the Women’s division, while Montero Hoops secured a thrilling victory in the Men’s division.
Now in its fourth consecutive year, the vivo 3×3 Basketball Challenge remains a premier grassroots platform for Filipino basketball talent. The tournament gives both aspiring and seasoned athletes a national stage to showcase their skills, gain valuable exposure, and compete for premium prizes.
The intensive grand finals concluded with the winning teams taking home championship trophies, medals, up to ₱30,000 in cash, and the latest vivo smartphones—headlined by the flagship vivo V70.
Queenpin Basketball Shines in the Women’s Division
Queenpin Basketball put on a masterclass performance in the Women’s Division Finals, defeating rivals QP 3×3 with a decisive 21-10 score to capture the championship title.

For veteran player Nic Cancio, the victory was about more than just the physical trophy; it was a major win for representation.
“I am very happy, not just for the experience but really for the spotlight that it gives to women’s basketball and to women in sport,” Cancio shared. “It’s my first time joining the vivo 3×3, and I hope it won’t be the last.”
As the oldest player on her squad, the 30-year-old athlete noted that the tournament tested her well beyond her physical limits, emphasizing the power of team chemistry and trust.
“It challenged me to help my teammates shine, to believe in ourselves, and to believe in our team,” Cancio added.

Years of Persistence Pay Off for Montero Hoops
The Men’s Division Finals delivered one of the most nail-biting finishes in tournament history. Montero Hoops edged out Taho Story MFTG Corporation in a dramatic 20-19 victory to claim the tournament crown.

For Jerick Fabian, lifting the trophy was the culmination of years of relentless training and recurring heartbreak in past iterations of the league.
“Happy and blessed kasi ilang years na namin pinagpaguran ito. Yearly sumasali kami and ngayon nakuha na namin, so napakasaya. Lalo na yung exposure dito, napakaganda,” Fabian stated, highlighting the tournament’s immense platform value.
Despite entering the grand finals as underdogs against a highly competitive field, Fabian credited their breakthrough moment to unwavering mutual trust and collective sacrifice during preparation.
“Yung pagiging underdog namin kasi lahat ng kasali dito malakas. Pinagplanuhan din namin ito, nagp-practice kami, nagsacrifice kami para makuha yung panalo,” he added.
